Dictate from anywhere on iOS — Action Button, Siri, lock-screen, Control Center. Tap the trigger → Scribe opens → record → tap stop → swipe up to return → paste in whatever app you were in.
One-time setup (iPhone)
- Open the Shortcuts app (built into iOS).
- Tap + to make a new shortcut.
- Search for the action Open URL and add it.
- Paste
scribe://recordinto the URL field. - Tap the title bar at the top → rename it Scribe Dictate.
- Tap Done.
Bind it to whatever you want
- Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro+): Settings → Action Button → swipe to Shortcut → pick Scribe Dictate.
- Siri: just say "Hey Siri, Scribe Dictate".
- Lock screen / Home screen: long-press → Add Widget → Shortcuts → pick the shortcut.
- Control Center: Settings → Control Center → add Shortcuts → tap the running-man icon → pick yours.
